A bathtub is a plumbing fixture used for bathing. Old bathtubs are made of wood and looks like short water drums. Modern are usually made of fiberglass but some are made of steel or cast iron with enamel coating. There are some made of finished wood that are designed to be waterproof. A bathtub can be installed with a shower or it can be a stand-alone fixture. It has a waste drains an overflow with water taps on them. They can be bought as it is or you can have one customized during your bathroom construction. Bathtubs come in two types: Western style – shallow and long where the user lies down. Eastern style – short and deep where the user stands up and uses a shower fixture. This is known in Japan as Ofuro. The western style is the most commonly used today. Conventional and creative bathtub designs: Conventional bathtubs are rectangular in shape they have the usual fixtures and look very common. More creatively designed bathtubs are being available in the market today. They come in various shapes and with innovative accessories. These creative bathtubs designs are costlier than the conventional ones. Different types of creative bathtub designs: Illuminated bathtub – this type of bathtub comes with preinstalled halogen lights or a multicolored LED light unit that can be programmed depending on your lighting preference. With built-in TVs – this is a luxury not everyone can afford but something that everyone will definitely like a lot. This is not just creative but also very modern and will give the bather a much more relaxing bathing experience. Some may think it is too much but then again, if you have the resources, why not go overboard. The TV will be waterproof, of course. Custom shaped bathtubs – it is no longer necessary to have a rectangular shaped bathtub as more and more bathroom designers are coming up with uniquely designed bathtubs. Now, you can find, shoe shaped bathtubs that may look funny but will also make you the talk of the town. If you like boating, you can also try going for a boat-shaped bathtub. This is good when you live in a big city and you miss those weekends when you go boating and fishing. Nature-designed bathtubs – there are bathtubs designed like they are made of natural rock formations. This is very innovative and will the bather a feeling of being close to nature. Whirlpool bathtub – this is a spa bathtub with wat z er jet massage and heat pump. |
